A bad number is the most useful thing you can report
These calculators produce buy lists people act on at a till, so an error costs someone real money. If a result does not match what you measured, or what the store sold you, that is worth reporting and it gets fixed. The most useful report names the calculator, the numbers you put in, the result you got, and the result you expected.
Also worth writing about
- A calculator that is not on the wall yet. Concrete, drywall, insulation and sod come up most often. Tell us the project and what the buy list would need to include.
- A default that is wrong for your region or trade. Coverage rates, waste allowances and post spacing all vary by climate, code and local practice. If our default is off for where you build, say so.
- Something in the guides that is incorrect. Corrections are welcome and get made.
- Accessibility problems. If a calculator is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader or at high zoom, that is a bug and it gets priority.
- Account, membership and billing questions, including cancellation and data deletion. See the privacy policy for what is stored; requests are answered within 30 days.
Response time
Usually a few days. This is one person's work rather than a staffed desk, so a busy week can stretch it — but every message is read. Leave an email address if you want a reply.
